Mobile app publisher Luni hired interior design firm Yemanja to design their new office in Bordeaux, France.

“TOne of the first challenges for Yemanja was to give a second life to the building and its original architecture, to further add a touch of modernity and elegance. This was done in every corner of the place : keeping a 8m high perched skylight, restoring the “bordelaise” stone arches, searching under multiple layers, the one-of-a-kind parquet.

In addition to the workspaces, the young and effervescent team at Luni also wanted many entertainment zones: omnisports fields, boxing room, a gym, video studio, zen garden, board games room, video games room…

In order to keep the beauty of the existing place and have a common thread as a guide, Yemanja chose a subtle color combination for every floor. A blend of refined elements and neat aesthetics furnitures. In that elegant shell, everything has become inspiring and stimulates the team’s creativity !

The overall space, distributed on 5 floors by a majestic staircase, offers the collaborators a multitude of possible works positions and to the visitors an original experience like no other office in Bordeaux. Luni’s headquarters offer multiple activities. On the ground floor and at the 2nd floor, offices are thought to facilitate exchanges to create, transform and invent the most daring concepts. Comfortable furnitures with refined lines invite workers to collective and individual emulation.

On the 3rd and 4th floors, the atmosphere is quieter, more studious. Then, on the last floor, visitors can access a space dedicated to self development. The highest floor offers the possibility to meditate, do yoga and entertain with board games,” says Yemanja.

Car navigation company TomTom recently hired workplace design firm Peldon Rose to design their new office in Paris, France.

“Adopting a people-centric approach to the design was key. Several interactive workshops between the teams at TomTom and Peldon Rose took place throughout the project, allowing for continued communication between the multi-national delivery teams. The interactive workshops enabled the team to understand that creating a workspace to encourage group activity was essential, with collaboration shaping the initial design concepts. An open-plan office layout was an integral feature, including informal connectivity areas with additional collaborative spaces designed to promote participation and interaction across teams.

Relocating to a smaller floorplate whilst maintaining a similar number of meeting rooms required a design to maximise the use of space, with multi-functional areas playing a key role. Creating a connection, the central tea point unites the front of house to the employee neighbourhood, engendering a community spirit while the geometric Karndean flooring with delicate black metal feature lighting brought the local Parisian architecture into the workplace.

To allow for consistency in design, our design studio have created a bespoke playbook, designed over the course of our relationship with TomTom to shape the design of each new workplace. While a synergy between existing offices was important to maintain brand heritage, so too was the need to bring the external Parisian influence into the space.

Working closely with the team in Paris, Peldon Rose interrogated what Paris means to the people who work there. The objective was to create a space where the identity of the city outside is woven into the design throughout. For head designer Stephanie Di Losa, the highlight for the space is the recreation of the Paris Metro archway entrance. “Inspired by the art nouveau cast iron archway evident walking through the French capital, we created our own modernised twist to the archways, while retaining the colours and font you’d find when riding the Metro.”

“We wanted to bring the culture of the city into the space, so that when you step into the office, it’s clear that you’re in a workplace designed for the French capital,” said Di Losa. Thanks to a close relationship and constant communication between the teams at Peldon Rose and TomTom, the end result is a workplace that not only aligns with TomTom’s objective for collaboration with a people-centric approach, but a workplace inspired by the surrounding external Parisian environment,” says Peldon Rose.

French media company Mediawan recently hired workplace design firm Yemanja to design their new office in Paris, France.

“Passionate by office’s landscaping, we quickly understood the challenge and the strategic issues of such a project. We had to find and tell a story to illustrate our ambition all along the 8 floors and its 10,000 m². Mediawan’s offices are a place made by creatives for creatives. Our work will give birth to the group’s ambitions. To make 46 avenue de Breteuil an incubator dedicated to production and innovation of audiovisual and digital contents, the office of the future sector mastodon.

The building chosen by Mediawan was occupied during 30 years by Michelin. Classically organized, our work was to break codes and some building constraints. The objective was to offer a development over 10,000 m² that free minds, enhance creativity and give the opportunity to 500 people to collaborate. Little by little, teams have arrived, the place came to life and benefits appeared: increase of synergies, affiliation feeling, global well being spread throughout the 8 floors of the building.

We are proud to have succeeded in this challenge. During 15 months, we put into this project our heart, all our capacities “Design and Build” without a break… with pleasure and happiness,” says Yemanja.

Coworking space provider La Maison recently hired interior design firm Yemanja to design their new office in Paris, France.

“We designed  1,500 m2 of coworking space in a bright, atypical and charming space , an old Call center within red bricks walls’s building, dispatches on three levels. The building offered a large potential design wise, despite of numerous renovations work to be planned.

“Maison du coworking” is a French chain of coworking spaces which wants family and where it is pleasant to work. The main challenge was to create a space where the different company teams could mix, meet and above all, communicate.

Emphasis was therefore placed on the main living space: “the living room”, designed as a living and comfortable discussion space, “like at home”: open kitchen, sofas, poufs, games room, Baby foot.

Extremely bright due to the large both sides openings to the outside, it has been thought as a modular space to accommodate all kinds of events such as business meals, match broadcasts, conferences, concerts, etc.

The idea of exploiting the 5 meter height under ceiling of this main space highlighting it with a terracotta color was obvious and gives all its charm to this volume. To invite “coworkers” to change their work environment and invest this space to work differently lot of spot as sofas, hotdesks, even an outdoor terrace have been installed. The offices are made up of different comfortable places that facilitate exchanges.

The outdoor terrace, for its part, has been furnished in a simple and effective way with only picnic tables, hammock and different height tables, just to be able to welcome newcomers as it should be around a barbecue!

The unification of the two buildings created relatively complex and tortuous traffic, signage design work was also to be expected. It was mandatory to clearly indicate the floors and to facilitate traffic flow. The trombone symbol, logo of the “Maison du coworking”, therefore served as inspiration. Unrolling it over the entire height of the stairwell, it invite visitors to go from 0A (ground floor of the first building) to 2B (second floors of the second building) .

The aesthetics of the whole wanted to be fresh and colorful, punctuated by small informal meeting rooms, which we repeated on all of the two buildings to homogenize the whole,” says Yemanja.

French shoe brand M. Moustache recently hired interior design studio Factory to design their new office in Paris, France.

“The first challenge was to achieve a functional arrangement while taking into account the company’s growth and potential reorganization needs. The second aim was to create a universe that reflected the brand’s identity, warm, authentic and elegant, with a home-like atmosphere. The third challenge was to bring together three different minds and organisations in the same place: an office, a collaborative work space and an area similar to a showroom.

Formerly located in a Haussmann-style building, the team lacked space, storage and comfort. The company decided to make a long-term investment and acquired a new, larger and more comfortable place, reminding one of an old ocean liner from the 70s. The idea was to play with the specificities of the premises and to be inspired by this typical, round design. The angled shape was multiplied all over the room, on the platforms and on the floors. They contrast with the very linear canopies of the glass partitions.

At M. Moustache’s, the offices are both a showroom and an Atelier dedicated to creation. They allow the team to work in the best possible conditions: each division has its own space, adapted to its needs.

The different departments are partitioned by different types of parquet, leather, carpet and PVC flooring, allowing them to be organized, while maintaining the open space dimension and thus the circulation and communication between the teams. One of the rooms is only dedicated to the storage of stocks and boxes. One part of the office is reserved for the B2B and B2C showrooms, which add a whole new dimension to the place. These two places both serve as sales areas as well as meeting rooms. Finally, the cafeteria allows the team to gather and have lunch together around a big table.

Far away from the classic offices, this new place has been transformed into a warm, home-like space. The choice of colors echoes the brand’s corporate identity with blue, but also the seventies side of the place is supported by orange.

The design concept was based on the look and feel of M. Moustache’s stores: colors, materials, organization. A few carefully chosen pieces bring an authentic aspect, which is very present in the brand. The balance of those give a “wow effect” that lasts and which will age well, all in the image of the brand which we hope to accompany for a long time.”

“Le Village’s teams needed a bigger space, reflecting the quality of their work, equipped with advanced technology, and encouraging the new ways of working.

The space is a 10,763 square feet live showroom, thematized by the concept of a village, traditionally conducive to exchange. Here employees can exchange, (net)work, focus or socialize in the many third spaces available to them (workcafe, atrium, swimming pool, forum, acoustic booths, box, library, alcove, outdoor terraces, and gym room). In the center of the workspace, the hive, a large solid oak table is the favorite gathering place for team meetings.

Each employee is equipped with a height adjustable desk, and the acoustics are perfectly mastered to create a serene atmosphere accross the whole workplace,” says Arch.Design.

Business consulting company Synchrone recently hired architecture and interior design firm BMA Group to design their new office in Paris, France.

“The new layout reflects the dynamism of Synchrone and its desire to recruit young talents. Elegance and sobriety are essential. Located on the 5th floor of the building belonging to Tishman Speyer, the space is divided into two separate spaces.

The loft and business center for total immersion at Synchrone

This industrial-style loft office consists of a reception and a cozy relaxation area incorporating a bistro kitchen. “Eastern Oak” parquet, innovative “Touch Fenix” materials as well as designer lamps “Tom Dixon” or “Artemide” bring a warm and vintage atmosphere to the whole. The refined business center allows you to continue immersion and discussions in an intimate and cozy setting.

The open space for a classic, clean and functional working environment. The simplicity of the stage is counterbalanced by the numerous meeting rooms which bear the name of large cities such as Paris, Mexico City or Boston. They bring a more statutory side and are decorated with moldings and chandeliers that give them a “Parisian chic” touch.

Digital at the heart of planning

Synchrone supports the digital transformation of large organizations, which is why BMA Group opted for a full connection space with a wifi system in numersive rooms, in other words: without cables for efficient viewing. A room reservation system, terminals and digital lockers are available to employees with an RFID system (system for storing and retrieving data remotely),” says BMA Group.

PwC, a global consulting firm that offers assurance and tax services, recently hired architecture and interior design firm Vincent & Gloria Architectes to design their new part office, part experience centre in Paris, France.

“Breaking the corporate style specific to the tertiary world, the company has invested a beautiful Haussmannian mansion. More than just a simple workspace, it is an innovation laboratory, a place of collaboration and co-creation, immersive and creative. The visitor is invited to live a customer experience: a black wire guides him on the whole site, it runs on the walls, the floor and the ceiling. It sometimes interrupts to indicate the name of the rooms or to become communication medium. It links the different spaces that illustrate the stages of the process of reflection and creation of Design Thinking projects: Exploring, Creating, Realizing. The uses have been studied to be reinvented in order to create adapted and disruptive spaces. Directing ideas has been breaking codes.

Visitors are not greeted conventionally in a lobby but directly by the teams in the living areas. They meet there, they exchange, they work differently.
These are the Social Hub, Social Plug, Hub, Agora … Audacious and offbeat, modern and colorful interventions relate and strengthening the Haussmannian heritage character of the places found within the framework of the rehabilitation project.

Visitors are not invited in conventional and corporate meeting rooms but in co-creative rooms. In the User Lab, problems are observed, designed as an apartment where we study the behaviour of users to bring out the issues.
In the Flash room, the avenues of reflection are explored. Empty and modular room, an anamorphic flashing evokes the idea that coming up..In the Jungle Room, they explore to find the way to the good ideas. The immersion is total: jungle wallpaper on the walls creates the perspective and decor, a plant composition dotted with bright spots on the ceiling creates the canopy. We opted for wood and green laminate furniture.

In the Dream room, ideas are emerged. In the Crystal room solutions are developed. In the Fab Lab, models are prototyped. In the Sigma Room, works are exposed. Projects are developed in small working rooms called War Rooms. A colored square on the ceiling is reminiscent of the post-it with which teams work and a black and white graphic floor animates the space. The furniture is light, heterogeneous to promote mobility, exchange and dynamism. Open Space is a quieter place. We favor clear tones, streamlined furniture and sobriety in the treatment of the existing where the intervention is minimal. The walls and ceiling remain white, the parquet floor is preserved,” says Vincent & Gloria Architectes

MAD Network, a consulting firm specialized in client experience for luxury brands, recently hired architecture interior design firm CUT Architectures to design their new office in Paris, France.

“The offices located in the heart of Paris are spread over two floors and more than 4,600 square feet of which nearly half has a typical Parisian bourgeois heritage completely neglected by the previous works, yet offering massive oak floors, monumental high ceilings and exceptional ceiling moldings giving a sumptuous setting to the workspaces.

Contemporary intervention

Overlooking the workspaces, we imagined an Eden garden offering a parenthesis accessible to the employees. This intermediate suspended floor anchored to the surrounding walls creates a series of lounges and informal meeting spaces borrowing aesthetic codes to the Parisian garden. The floor is green and translucent (epoxy grating and the handrailing is made of curved steel rods. This level forms the backbone of the offices as well as its new identity,” said CUT Architectures.

“Along the bay windows are placed large desks for team working while the central space is inhabited by scaffolding- like structures made out ot powder-coated steel tubes linked with connectors and covered with corrugated polycarbonate panels playing with light and shapes together with the curtains behind. The horizontal structures are made out of plain PVC giving elegance to the pods which are used as meeting rooms, workshops or phone booth, the acoustic curtain giving adjustable privacy.

Transparent polycarbonate vertical tubes are used to visibly supply connectivity and power while ordering the desks.

A dedicated area for an artist from the Galeries Lafayette Foundation in residence for 6 months is marked by a colorful glass partition. Cheerz, a digital startup that allows instant photo printing from phone, recently hired workplace design firm Yemanja to design their new office in Paris, France.

“The team of fifty moved offices in 2018 and planned for a place big enough for a hundred but most importantly, the new office had to have style. Cheerz is all about aesthetics, beauty, catching the eye and making people smile and their new office had to be on par with this major Cheerz principle. We designed Cheerz’s new office like a family photo album. All the most important times in your life when you’d like to take a photo and keep it forever, there’s a place for them in the office. Whether it’s Christmas or a skiing trip in the cabin-like meeting room, or a strong feeling of eternal love with your better half in the heart-shaped meeting box. The office is spread on two levels of equal dimensions, but only the lower floor is setup as a multi-desk open space and everyone’s work station is there. On the upper floor is everything related to chilling, playing games, having lunch, hosting an afterwork session, playing a movie, … and even just bringing your laptop and work from this peaceful, beautiful environment with a view on Paris’ rooftops,” says Yemanja
